Chili/Salsa Cookoff Saturday, November 12, 2011 Rules and Guidelines |

1. All chili entries are welcome. Businesses, schools, service organizations, public safety, government agencies, restaurants, and individuals are encouraged to participate. There is no entry fee. 2. It is suggested that each entrant provide 10 gallons of ready‐to‐eat chili at the event. Chili must remain heated (140°) during the event. You may cook on‐site, but no electricity is available. 3. Entrants will need to provide all items required to present and serve their chili. This includes items like tables, serving spoons, tents, utensils, pots, gas burning grills, and signs. A 10’ x 10’ tent is recommended. 4. Event coordinators will provide all necessary serving cups, tasting spoons and napkins to each entrant. 5. A 12’ x 12’ space will be provided to each entrant. One vehicle per entrant (Strictly Enforced) will be allowed at each booth space to assist in transporting of materials. 6. Any beverages consumed by entrants must be in plastic containers. No glass bottles permitted. Also, please remember that dogs are not permitted in the park. 7. Set‐up time will be from Noon ‐ 4PM on November 12th. Event opens to the public at 5 PM and closes at 9 PM. Booths must be setup by 4 PM. Chili and Salsa tasting starts at 5 PM. 8. Judging will begin at 6 PM. Entrants are required to remain throughout the entire event. 9. Chili awards will be given in the following categories: People’s Choice, Best Restaurant, Best Business, Best Service Organization, Best Individual, Best Public Safety, Best Government, Best School and Best Decorated Booth. 10. Entrants are encouraged to develop a theme and decorate their booth. Please keep in mind that this is a family event. 11. Event Coordinators will sell the only valid “Chili/Salsa tasting tickets” to tasters. 12. All people wishing to taste chili or salsa must give 1 “tasting ticket” per tasting. 13. There shall be a "cooks' meeting" with all Chili/Salsa entrants at 4 PM at the Lottery stage. 14. No items will be sold from any entrant without prior approval. 15. ENTRY DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11th AT 5 PM OR UNTIL ALL SPACES ARE FILLED. SPACE IS LIMITED. |
